I was so happy that Howard and Erin asked me to play this important part in their wedding. I met them through my husband and instantly loved their laidback style and easy friendship. Their wedding day was such a reflection of who they both are. Their guests stood around them as they were married overlooking a cliff at the Saskatoon Farm near Okotoks. It was a perfect late afternoon wedding.

Hanna and I grew up riding bikes down the gravel road to each other's houses. We road the bus everyday together and were best friends from kindergarten onwards. Today we are both moms, triathletes and still friends. Together with our moms (also best friends), we caught up for lunch yesterday.

Where to begin. Firstly, Terry Kipling and Heather Pickett are such an awesome newly married couple. They met when Heather was a newspaper reporter and Terry was a fireman. Heather chased stories on fires and caught Terry instead. Secondly, these two have amazing families. Third, they had the coolest MC at their reception and the best speeches. Due to the overwhelming response to my wedding photography, I am completely booked up with bridal sessions this year. To still be able to provide you with fabulous family photography, I will be setting aside three full days to shoot families, singles, maternity and kids.

I will be shooting for one day only in a location at Lloydminster, Calgary and Okotoks. Each session will be 30 minutes long with a $168 (inc. gst) investment. You are guaranteed minimum 30 high resolution touched-up photographs in digital form to print and share as you wish. A $50 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your date and time.

Dates and times are yet to be announced. Contact me at loreephotography@gmail.com if you wish to be placed on the list to be emailed 24 hours in advance of the public notice. You are not required to make a booking if you wish to be on this list, it is just to give you an early notice of when dates/times are available.

Introducing our first baby - little Jane Francis Loree. She was born five days ago on March 7 weighing 8lb 7oz. Jane is Ben's grandma Loree and Francis is my grandpa Creech.

We wanted to use a vintage aviation theme so incorporated WWI biplane wallpaper and a crocheted aviator hat. Ben is a helicopter pilot, so we thought one inside his helmet would be cute.

Karla and Shame Helm were a couple years younger than me in high school. Fast forward 15 years and Okotoks is home to the two of them and their four children. These kids are cute, smart and were a blast to photograph. It was a freezing December day so we did most of the session indoors, moving outside only at the end for a couple shots.

I first met Tim and Ali McMillan nearly five years ago when Tim put his hat into the race for the Lloydminster riding for the Sask Party. Tim is now MLA and the Minister responsible for Crown Investments Corporation. I won't add the rest of the title because it will take too long.

I really enjoyed my time with the extended McMillan family the other week. Ali works very hard, dividing her time between Regina and Lashburn - taking kids to school and caring for her horses. I will make the assumption that Ali is also MInister of War and Finance in the McMillan house!

I didn't know where to start in choosing a few photos from yesterday's session with Victoria. Every photo of her is beautiful. Victoria come down from my hometown of Lloydminster for our shoot. She is a trainer in the gym she owns with her husband, she's a mother of two boys and was a blast to send time with in downtown Calgary. I cannot find a single flaw in her!!

What do I love about the Papke Family?

I've been looking forward to this shoot for months. Initially they booked me for the spring. It rained and a decision was made to do the session in the fall. This was the best decision. We religiously watched the weather forecasts this week. First, it was rain - then no rain - then just plain chilly! Gerry and Tammy Thompson were troupers...as were their entire wedding party!

I had so much fun getting to know Tammy's family and both Gerry and Tammy's friends. They are a wonderful group of people and I was honoured to be part of their day!

I met Jody the first time I ever went to Nanton to meet my now-husband's family. I immediatly loved her. She is fun, considerate, loyal and just the best cousin-in-law! Her husband Dustin is someone I thought I knew a little about....until I saw video of him last night at the reception. I don't know if I have ever laughed so hard. He really should be a drama major instead of an agriculture gradulate.

Their day was filled with special touches and the couple were surrounded by their most special people. It was perfect, personal and a moment I am so honoured to have been part of!

Enjoy a few of their memories. I've chosen to put a few online that show those "little moments" that take place to make a special wedding day.

I love this shot. The couple wrote their own vows. Dustin presented Jody with a special bracelet as part of his vow. I'm not sure there were many people without tears after this touching moment.

My sister Erin and her husband Dan and their kiddies, Callie and Lane live near Dundurn, SK. I wish I could make it out there more often, but enjoy every minute of when I get to visit. I had several photoshoots in Saskatchewan last weekend, so did their family shots at the same time. I also was able to bring back boxes of newborn baby and maternity clothes that she had saved for me. Ben and I are expecting our first baby in February - making Erin and Dan an aunt and uncle for the first time. Callie and Lane are very excited to have their first cousin too!

I travelled several hours to Biggar, SK to photography Amy and Dave's wedding. I used to go through the town a couple times a year as a kid when we would travel from my hometown of Lloydminster to my mom's hometown of Kyle. It's an amazing small community that is booming with agriculture and other industries. It's also Amy's hometown.

This is a couple that is fun and laidback. It wa such a pleasure to capture their wedding day and their devotion to each other.

I met Monica through Alberta Beef Producers. She manages Western Feedlots near High River (I know....she totally doesn't look like it here). When I went to do the very first shot she posed perfectly. It was then I found out that she modelled professionally though Europe when she was a teen. I felt a bit out of my element here and said I should be paying her to be my model!

I took some time today to photograph a few of the girls on our Calgary Stampede Agriculture Media Committee. I work with the most stunning and fun women you will find at Stampede. We hit the midway, the barns and even the goat exhibit.

Tanner and Jessica are an amazing young couple. Tanner is a driller who works out of the U.S. and Jessica does PR in downtown Calgary. What I love about them is that they are as comfortable working cattle and horses as they are in a suit and Louboutin shoes. You heard that right....Jessica wore her Louboutins in the barnyard with a Tiffany bracelet. I think I found a new role model!

Ashley and Russell Glover are the couple that you wished you met years ago. They live in the most gorgeous place just north of Mossleigh, AB. The first photo here shows the amazing sunset. It rained and blew nearly the entire day. We had about three hours of this amazing sunshine and still winds. Ashley is due on Father's Day. What a great gift for Russell.

Cool ideas

I was on the hunt today for props. I really love toys and clothes from my parent's and grandparent's eras. Even if I can't find a specific item to match those years, I love to try and make a photo that looks like it belongs there. The little bike and chair are two items I picked up at an antique store in High River today. I can't wait to try them out on a shoot soon!

There are so many ways to share your memories with friends and family that you don't have to stick with the standard book or IKEA frames. Use items that fit your tastes and that are a little out of the ordinary to showcase your photos. Again - this is the window that I've had in my basement waiting to display my photos. It will only cost me $230 to have this transformed with new windows and set up in the back to change out the photos when we have new ones done. Our wedding photos will be placed in here this week.

Grad Girls

Katie, Danielle and Elizabeth are best friends. They are all graduating this year as well and are all going in seperate directions with school and life. My guess is that 10 years from now I could be back where we all started....taking photos of the three of them laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Shlane and Donny Broomfield are natural musicians. They, along with Donny's Dad, have an amazing band. I've sat in pubs listening to them play and sing and they are just so talented. When they asked me to capture their new baby girl, little Ayla Rose, I was honoured to photography their artistic family.

I will also be doing photos of the band this summer. I've got some super-cool ideas. Doug Broomfield also plays in a band called the "Free Beer Band." They played at our wedding a couple of months ago and had the crowd up dancing all night long.

A girl's stagette is supposed to be about good friends, phallic cups, games and shooters. I've been to several in my life, just never my own. This past weekend my sister, who will be my matron on honour, hosted mine. We went to a dueling piano bar in Calgary followed by a night at the fabulous Fairmont Palliser Hotel. Only three weeks until our wedding day.

Dogsitting

Ben and I are dogsitting Dixie and Dexter Kingsmith this weekend. Dixie is a Boston Terrier and Dexter is a Bug (Boston Terrier cross Pug). It was a gorgeous day out today, so we decided to hit the park. As you can see, it was a touch on the wet side. Molly loves to play with Dixie - so it was a noisy weekend at our house.

Outdoor weddings (and any other photoshoot booking) can put fear into any photographer's heart. You begin watching the long-term weather forcasts a week in advance of the big day. You continue to watch the weather throughout the week and then check every hour from 24-hours onward. I was lucky this Tuesday. Cathy Mitchell and Joel Bolton were getting married in Canmore, AB and I was asked to capture their wedding. The day was perfect.....one degree, little wind and the gorgeous backdrop of the Rocky Mountains.
